Poseidon has a wife, whose name is Amphitrite, and a son whose name was Triton. Amphitrite was a granddaughter or the Titan, Ocean. Triton was the trumpeter of the sea and his trumpet was a great shell. Some known foes of Poseidon are Apollo, Athena, and Hera. Poseidon doesn’t like Athena because they were both competing for Athens. Poseidon gave them a well full of salty water and Athena gave them an olive tree. Athenians chose Athena since the the olive tree had many uses. Apollo and Poseidon also don’t like each other since Poseidon joined the Greeks during the Trojan War. Apollo didn’t want to fight against his uncle so he joined the Trojans. Poseidon disliked Hera because they argued about the possession of Argolis.
