Characterizing and Identifying Apollo
Apollo is a Greek God of Music, Poetry, Art, Oracles, Archery, Plague, Medicine, Sun, Light and Knowledge. He is the son of Zeus and Leto, and his only sibling is his twin sister Artemis. His symbols are a Lyre, Lauren wreath, Python, Raven, and an Bow and Arrow. His friends were Poseidon, Dionysus, and the Pythia, and his Foes are Hera, Python, Eros, Agamemnon, Niobe, and Marsyas .The dolphin and the swan were the animals that were very sacred to him One of Apollo's most important daily tasks was to harness his four-horse chariot, in order to move the Sun across the sky. His strengths is that he is creative, handsome, and supportive of all the arts of civilization, but his weaknesses is that he is too much like his father, he gets charmed by nymphs, and his conquest number in dozens. A legend that is associated with Apollo is couple days after birth, Hera sent the Serpent Python to attempt to kill her. To protect her, Apollo asked Hephaestus for a bow and arrow. When the Python came and tried to attack Apollo fought it in a cave at Delphi, killing it and saving his sister. Another story his is associated with is the Story of Phoebus and Phaeton. Phoebus or Apollo owed one favor to his son. Phaeton, his human son, wanted to ride his father’s sun chariot to the sun, but little did he know that he wouldn’t make it. So Apollo let him, once Phaeton got on his journey he was shot down by Zeus. Apollo had many love affairs with both humans and goddesses. His most famous one is probably the one he had with a mortal woman named Hecuba, and they had a son named Troilus.
